Job summary

Polaris Direct, LLC is seeking a Mechanic-Set-up Operator to set up, maintain, and repair production equipment for daily mail runs.

You will calibrate and adjust FlowMaster inserting equipment, monitor performance, and troubleshoot to keep lines running smoothly while following all safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Able to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from management.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
• Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare FlowMaster mail inserting equipment for daily production runs.

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
• Respond quickly to paper jams and other machine interruptions to keep production running smoothly.
• Configure machine settings based on job specifications, including feed type, speed, and print requirements.
• Monitor equipment performance during production and take immediate corrective action when issues arise.
• Partner with machine operators and production staff to diagnose equipment problems and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following all company policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines.
