A leading manufacturing company in Lewisville, Texas, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic responsible for the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience and a high school diploma, with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently. This full-time position offers benefits starting from the first day of work, profit sharing, and paid time off with normal working hours Monday to Friday.

Job description

Job Summary

Maintenance Mechanic - Processing is responsible for ensuring efficient operations and maintenance and repair of all mechanical equipment for the processing, central weigh, sanitation, tank farm, purified water, and waste water equipment at Mary Kay. The role performs mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs on processing tanks, storage tanks, pumps, valves, piping, instruments, etc. The role ensures that all work is documented accurately following good documentation practices (GDP). The role is accountable for helping to achieve strategies and goals of becoming the world‑class, low‑cost, high‑quality producer of choice. The role is expected to communicate with reliability and operations teams to minimize the impact on the production schedule. It documents all work, adjustments, and parts replacements in a computerized maintenance management system, identifies opportunities for process improvements, contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, participates in root cause analysis, collaborates with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services, and follows standard operating procedures, work instructions, and maintenance schedules. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on production machinery and equipment according to established schedules.
  • Inspect, test, and service equipment to detect malfunctions and ensure optimal performance.
  • Resolve any issues discovered during preventive maintenance to minimize operational downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems to restore equipment functionality.
  • Utilize various tools and equipment to complete repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently.
  • Read manuals and other documentation to troubleshoot and repair complex issues accurately.
  • Assist in the installation, assembly, and disassembly of machinery and equipment.
  • Perform equipment upgrades and modifications to enhance production efficiency and safety.
  • Assist the engineering department in installing, setting up, and testing new production equipment.
Full‑Time Employment
  • Hours: 8 hours per day, Monday – Friday (40 hours per week).
  • Work schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
  • Shift differential: none – first shift.
  • Pay: weekly.
  • Benefits: Full benefits (Medical, Dental & Vision) start on first day of work.
  • Profit sharing: Yes.
  • Paid time off: 4.667 hours per month accrual.
  • Vacation: 6.667 hours per month accrual.
Experience & Education
  • Experience: 2+ years in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Technical certification or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, P&ID's, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and basic programming is a plus.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills within and between different teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Basic computer skills in using the Internet, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to frequently stand, walk, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb, push, pull, reach, and move equipment and machinery weighing up to 60 lbs. in order to repair, monitor, and maintain processing equipment.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, noise).
  • Certification in sanitary welding is a plus.
Working Conditions
  • May occasionally be exposed to heat, cold, and outdoor/inclement weather conditions.
  • Frequent exposure to loud machinery noise, dust/powders, dirt, fumes/gases, and odors.
  • Exposure to hazardous waste such as spent alcohol or other substances designated as hazardous waste by the Environmental Protection Agency.
  • Other hazards including proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, and heights.
  • Frequent overtime, long shifts, and night or weekend work may be required.
  • Work schedule may change based on business needs.
