Job summary

Nestlé Health Science in Georgia is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to help maintain equipment reliability and support plant operations. The experienced technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains production and facility systems while following safety, preventive maintenance, and quality standards.

The role requires reading English safety procedures, working night shifts 7pm–7am, and coordinating with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or electromechanical systems.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and understand English for safety procedures, work instructions, and documenting maintenance activities clearly.
  • Ability to work off-shifts, weekends, overtime, and extended shifts as needed.
  • Physical requirements: can lift up to 50 lbs and work in loud areas.
  • Preferred: Technical degree in industrial maintenance or electronics.
  • Certifications in welding, vibration analysis, or thermography are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and mechanical systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, drive, steam, plumbing).
  • Perform preventive maintenance using a computerized maintenance system.
  • Support equipment upgrades, start-ups, and maintenance projects.
  • Review and update engineering drawings, schematics, and system documentation.
  • Perform welding and fabrication (MIG, TIG, stick) as needed.
  • Coach and support operators with equipment adjustments and basic troubleshooting.
  • Participate in safety, quality, and equipment performance problem-solving.

Maintenance Mechanic
POSITION SUMMARY

The Mechanic B plays a key role in maintaining equipment reliability and supporting plant operations. This experienced-level technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains production and facility equipment while following all safety, preventive maintenance, and quality standards. The role works with minimal supervision and provides basic training to less experienced team members.

SHIFT/SCHEDULE DETAILS
  • Shift: Night

  • Schedule:7pm-7am

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and mechanical systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, drive, steam, plumbing, and piping systems

  • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems using a computerized maintenance system

  • Support equipment upgrades, systemstart‑ups, and capital or special maintenance projects

  • Review, update, andmaintainengineering drawings, schematics, and system documentation

  • Perform welding and fabrication work (MIG, TIG, and stick) as needed

  • Coach and support operators with equipment adjustments, changeovers, and basic technical troubleshooting

  • Participate inproblem‑solvingrelated to safety, quality, and equipment performance

  • Identifyand address safety risks proactively andfollow all safety procedures at all times

  • Support continuous improvement efforts, including TPM, Lean, and standard work initiatives

REQUIREMENTS
  • 3–5years ofexperiencein industrial maintenance or electromechanical systems, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Ability to read and understand English for safety procedures, work instructions, and documenting maintenance activities clearly

  • Ability to work off-shifts, weekends, overtime, and extended shifts as needed

  • Physical requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation): Able to lift up to 50lbs, move throughout your shift, varying temperatures, and work safely in loud areas and confined spaces

  • Preferred:

  • Technical degree in industrial maintenance, electromechanical maintenance, or electronics

  • Certifications in welding, vibration analysis, or thermography

SKILLS
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drive systems

  • Welding and fabrication skills (MIG, TIG, stick)

  • Ability to read measurements, gauges, and technical documentation

  • Strong problem‑solving and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams
