Job description

We are looking for a Mechanic Millwright (Sign-On Available for Select Candidates) to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.

Shifts: 1st Shift: 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, 2nd Shift: 3:30 pm to 11:30 pm, 3rd Shift: 11:30 pm to 7:30 am

Your Challenge:

  • Install, move, reconstruct, repair, and rebuild machines and major site equipment requiring planning and improvisation of methods.
  • This includes day-to-day repair, modification and/or replacement of Test Loops.
  • Perform PM work including laser alignment.
  • Machine repair parts as required.
  • Use mechanic’s hand tools, portable power tools, material handling equipment, pneumatic winches, hammer drills, large power hoists, ladders, scaffolds, cable slings, precision levels, laser transit, monitoring equipment including instrumentation, and pressure gauges.
  • Operate a lathe and milling machine, and required machinist equipment. Use department communication devices.
  • Work with all types of machine tools, such as conventional equipment, numerical-controlled equipment, boilers, pumps, and all types of raw materials, including structural steel, bars, flats, soldering, and other metal joining materials.

What You Bring:

  • High School diploma plus completion of a four-year Mechanic Millwright Apprenticeship or a two-year Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology.
  • Four years’ experience in the Mechanic Millwright repair field. Prior machining experience such as lathe, milling machine, boring mill, etc.
  • Must be a US citizen due to DoD requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
