Job summary

Curtiss-Wright’s EMD Cheswick site seeks a skilled Millwright able to install, move and repair complex machinery. You will perform PM work, laser alignment, and handle diverse tools and components, ensuring equipment readiness.

Requires a four-year apprenticeship or two-year degree with four years of field experience; US citizenship and DoD clearance eligibility are mandatory. On-site work in Cheswick, PA with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate with four-year Mechanic Millwright Apprenticeship or two-year Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology.
  • Four years’ experience in Mechanic Millwright repair, incl. lathe, milling, boring mill.
  • Must be a US citizen due to DoD requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Install, move, reconstruct, repair and rebuild machines and major site equipment.
  • Repair/modify/replace Test Loops as part of PM work including laser alignment.
  • Repair machine parts as required.
  • Operate lathe, milling machine and machinist equipment; use communication devices.
  • Work with various machine tools and materials including structural steel and other metals.

Your Challenge:
  • Install, move, reconstruct, repair and rebuild machines and major site equipment requiring planning and improvisation of methods.

  • This includes day-to-day repair, modification and/or replacement of Test Loops.

  • PM work includes laser alignment.

  • Machine repair parts as required.

  • Mechanic’s hand tools, portable power tools, material handling equipment, pneumatic winches, hammer drills, large power hoists, ladders, scaffolds, cable slings, precision levels, laser transit, monitoring equipment including instrumentation, and pressure gauges.

  • Operate a lathe and milling machine, and required machinist equipment. Use department communication devices.

  • All types of machine tools, such as, but not limited to conventional equipment, numerical-controlled equipment, boilers, pumps, and all types of raw materials, i.e., structural steel material, bar and flat sock, soldering and other metal joining materials.

What You Bring:
  • High School graduate plus completion of a four-year Mechanic Millwright Apprenticeship or a two-year Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology

  • Four years’ experience working in the Mechanic Millwright repair field. Prior machining experience, such as lathe, milling machine, boring mill, etc.

  • Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
