Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary/Objective

Our Maintenance Mechanic performs routine, emergency and preventive maintenance work on office and plant equipment, machines, and building facilities.

Responsibilities

• Repair and service all site equipment, buildings, and furnishings.
• Communicate issues with the Maintenance team verbally and through email.
• Check and repair critical equipment.
• Check cooling towers, mills, chillers, air compressor, boiler, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance through inspection, lubrication, filter replacement, cleaning, etc.
• Complete an OSHA Respiratory Fit Test.

Minimum Education and Experience

• High School diploma/GED.
• Knowledge of pipe fitting, electrical wiring, and general mechanics.
• Capacity to lift up to 55 lbs. and stand on feet for long periods of time.
• Familiarity and extensive experience in all facets of maintenance:
  • Mechanical: pumps (positive displacement and centrifugal), drives (gearbox, belt, chain, hydraulic, couplings, motor‑electric, motors‑air, bearings, shafts, nuts, bolts, taps, and dies).
  • Electrical: high voltage 460 V 3‑phase, motor controls, low voltage (120 V power and control wiring), AC and DC systems, computer‑controlled systems.
  • Utilities: piping (water, air, and steam), boilers—understand steam condensate system—tracing, coils, traps, and pumps; air compressor system—filters, regulators, dryers, and lubricators; HVAC—air handling, blowers, dust collectors.
  • Vehicles: lift trucks—electric EE rated, battery, and hydraulics.
