Job summary

Colonial Group in Gladstone, VA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to uphold the reliability of manufacturing equipment at Riverville Mill. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and repair or replace components as needed.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of relevant work experience.
• Technical degree and/or comparable experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and equipment; particularly within the corrugated or packaging industry.
• Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and systems according to established procedures.
• Ensure reliability of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and repair equipment.
• Read and interpret manuals, diagrams, sketches, engineering specifications, and work orders.
• Use hand tools and measuring instruments to determine changes in dimensions.
• Assemble, install, adjust, calibrate machinery; dismantle and replace components as needed.
• Adhere to plant safety policies and participate in safety and Lean initiatives.

We are seeking resumes for Maintenance Mechanics at our Gladstone, VA Riverville Mill.

Basic Qualifications

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and systems according to established procedures.
• Ensures reliability of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance on machinery and systems.
• Perform tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, engineering specifications, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Use hand tools and measuring instruments to determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts.
• Assembles, installs, adjusts, and calibrates mechanical machinery and equipment. Dismantles, repairs, rebuilds, and replaces equipment and parts as needed.
• Adheres to all plant safety policies. Participate in plant-wide safety, housekeeping, Operational Excellence, and Lean Manufacturing programs.

Education and Experience

• 5-10 years of relevant work experience.
• Technical degree and/or comparable experience in successfully troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and equipment; particularly within the corrugated or packaging industry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems.

Knowledge and Skills

• Demonstrates ability to perform millwright tasks including bearing installation, equipment set-up and alignment, and rigging.
• Demonstrates ability to weld, perform pipe fitting tasks, and operate machinist equipment.
