Job summary

MV Transportation in Taunton, MA is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair steering, suspension, brakes, engines and electrical systems on our fleet. You will document work in the Fleet Management System and maintain a safe work environment.

Requires 2–3 years of apprentice level automotive or diesel experience and a high school diploma or equivalent; must pass a pre-employment drug screen. This role offers full benefits and stable hours.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of apprentice level verifiable training and experience in automotive or diesel mechanics.
• High school mechanics courses or regional occupational program may count toward experience.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicles to determine causes of defective operation of vehicle systems and components.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on vehicles.
• Execute major and minor repairs of defective components.
• Document all activities in MV's Fleet Management System.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

As a Mechanic, you willperform preventative maintenance, diagnosis, service and repair of steering, suspension, brakes, engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical, wheelchair lifts, and air conditioning systems. Successful applicants must be able to work safely, perform part analysis on damaged parts and assist in inventory control or other duties, as necessary.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following

• Diagnoses, examines, and investigates vehicles to determine causes of defective operation of vehicle systems and components.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance of vehicles

Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Combination of at least two (2) to three (3) years of apprentice level verifiable training and experience in automotive or diesel mechanics, which may include high school mechanics courses and/or a regional occupational program.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug testing.
