Job Description:

Seeking a reliable Mechanic Journeyman to join our outstanding fleet maintenance team. The Automotive Technician will be responsible for maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. These vehicles' propulsion systems include diesel and gasoline. Automotive Technicians must be skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.

Automotive Technicians must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, and Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location’s need. They must possess the required hand tools to perform their job.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Meet D.O.T requirements required by job assignment
  • Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders and stairs, stand, walk, and pivot frequently throughout the workday
  • Sit infrequently, as required, throughout the workday
  • Exercise simple hand grasping, power grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary
  • Operate standard and manual transmission
  • Operate power and pneumatic tools

Requirements

  • Must have an active driver’s license issued by the state
  • Willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including varying schedules depending on location
  • Must possess the required hand tools for the job
  • Must have experience with trailers and tractors

Knowledge and Skills

  • Current documented automotive mechanical experience
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers
  • Possess a full set of personal hand tools
  • Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Preferred
  • Dependable with regular and timely attendance
  • Available for varying shifts, overtime, and additional hours as needed
  • Wears personal protective equipment as required
  • Works in variable environments with exposure to weather, chemicals, dust, noise, etc.
  • Works cooperatively in a diverse environment
  • Communicates effectively to perform tasks and ensure safety

The starting pay for this position is $39.25 per hour. Hired applicants are eligible for weekly pay, extensive training, 401(K), pension plan, health benefits, paid leave, holidays, employee stock purchase, and other benefits.
