Job summary

Motor Coach Industries is seeking a Mechanic IV to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems on our buses. The role involves complex maintenance tasks to support vehicle reliability and safety.

The ideal candidate has hands-on automotive or diesel experience, familiarity with diagnostic tools such as Vansco and Cummins INSITE, and comfort using Oracle and Fleetio for fleet data tracking. CDL endorsements are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of experience in automotive, diesel, or related fields.
• CDL with Air and Passenger endorsements is preferred but not required.
• Diagnostic tools: Vansco, Cummins INSITE and other diagnostic tools.
• Fleet & Data Management Software: Oracle and Fleetio.
• Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook and ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Perform engine oil/filter changes, air filter replacements, and chassis lubrication.
• Change transmission fluid and filters, check differential fluid, and replace tires.
• Remove and install seats, brake drums and shoes, and suspension components.
• Diagnose and repair engine and body accessories (alternators, generators, voltage regulators).
• Service suspension, braking, and steering systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems (gauges, lighting, motors).
• Maintain and service pneumatic valves, control cables, and linkages.
• Repair or replace radiators, water pumps, hoses, seals, and other components.
• Install glass and perform basic body repairs.
