Job summary

ONEOK is seeking a Mechanical Technician to perform mechanical work on equipment across compressor, pipeline, storage, and gas processing facilities. The role covers servicing, maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and well equipment, with emphasis on safety and emissions testing.

Candidates should be capable of reading orders and drawings, using hand and power tools, and performing precise tuning.

Qualifications

  • Experience using hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing equipment.
  • Familiarity with company and governmental operating/safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical work on fixed and rotating equipment at compressor, pipeline, storage, gathering, fractionation and/or gas processing facilities.
  • Service, troubleshoot, maintain, install and repair structural, mechanical, electrical and/or well equipment; conduct emissions testing.
  • Order and/or secure parts and supplies.
  • Maintain, prepare and/or interpret reports and records (work logs, inspection reports, maintenance and repair records, pressure readings, material orders, oil analysis reports).
  • Drive and ensure maintenance is complete on company vehicles.
  • Be alert to dangerous or hazardous conditions and respond to emergencies as required, including DOT-covered functions.

Performs activities related to mechanical work on equipment at compressor, pipeline, storage, gathering, fractionation and/or gas processing facilities.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical work on fixed and rotating equipment at various locations including, but not limited to:
    • Internal combustion, diesel, natural gas powered engines and electrical drivers
    • Compressors, pumps, generators, turbines, valves, electrical equipment, and well equipment
  • Service, troubleshoot, maintain, install and repair structural, mechanical, electrical and/or well equipment. Conduct performance analyses, including emissions testing
  • Order and/or secure parts and supplies
  • Maintain, prepare and/or interpret reports and/or records including, but not limited to:
    • Work logs and service orders
    • Inspection reports
    • Engine/equipment maintenance and repair records
    • Pressure readings
    • Material and supply orders
    • Engine and compressor oil analysis reports
  • Drive and ensure maintenance is complete on company vehicles
  • Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.
