Job summary

Progress Rail in Atchison, KS is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician responsible for sustaining equipment under the Preventative Maintenance program, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and performing emergency and proactive repairs to minimize downtime.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience, electrical up to 480V 3-phase, strong mechanical skills, and familiarity with PLCs; HVAC and machining experience are a plus, with a focus on reliable plant operations.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree is desired.
• 3-5 years of prior experience necessary in a similar position.
• Electrical experience to 480-volt 3-phase.
• Strong mechanical ability.
• Experience with PLC's desired.
• HVAC experience a plus.
• Machining experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Predictive, preventative, and reactive maintenance and repair on pumps, presses, valves, fans, safety machine guards, fans and electrical equipment.
• Source replacement parts, material, tools, and spare parts as needed. Maintain spare parts inventory.
• Monitor and maintain CNC and related machine shop equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain engines, conveyors, electrical systems, CNC machinery, pneumatic tools, and hydraulics.
