Job Title: Packaging Mechanic - Level 3

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Primary Function

Responsible for equipment repairs, changeovers, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and installation, in accordance with company policies, GMPs, safety standards, SOPs, and housekeeping standards.

Essential Functions

• Mechanical equipment repair and troubleshooting
• Process improvements and equipment changeovers
• Fabrication of machine parts on packaging machinery

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competency at Levels 1 and 2
• Perform work according to GMPs, safety standards, and SOPs
• Electrical safety competency
• Minor machine shop work
• Mechanical troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Component understanding and manual reading
• Changeover and repair tasks
• Preventive maintenance
• Team leadership and training
• Record keeping and documentation
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Flexibility to perform various roles as needed
• Document equipment challenges as per MPI

Materials and Tools

Machine parts, assemblies, pipe fittings, lubricants, changeover parts, hand and power tools.

Reporting and Supervision

Reports to Mechanical and Production Supervision. May supervise others and work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED
• Internal candidates: completed OJT for Levels 1 and 2 in good standing
• External candidates: Industrial maintenance certificate or equivalent training
• Experience: 4-6 years (internal) or 8-10 years (external) in mechanical maintenance, changeovers, troubleshooting
