Headquartered in Newtown Square, PA, we have primary offices in Norfolk, VA; San Diego, CA; and Bremerton, WA.

Position Location: Bremerton, WA

Summary: Performs routine mechanical work on U.S. Navy shore facilities, waterborne vessels, surface ships and/or submarines. Tasks will be related to inspections, repairs, modernization and/or alterations.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Proficient in the use of precision measurement equipment including scales, vernier calipers, micrometers and torque wrenches.
  • Experienced with use of torque wrench extensions and multipliers and operation of hydraulic torque wrench.
  • Proficient in the use of portable drill presses and milling machines.
  • Perform disconnects and connections of mechanical joints.
  • Removes and installs various equipment using sound engineering practices.
  • Overhauls various pumps and valves.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and determine faulty equipment, determine cause of malfunction and determine best repair method.
  • Performs hydrostatic tests of pumps, valves and piping.
  • Records test procedures and results, performs routine analysis and calculations, and makes recommendations to Team Lead.
  • Ability to read and follow technical manuals for various equipment.
  • Fills out objective quality evidence (OQE) forms.
  • May lead large teams of mechanics.
  • Provides work leadership and technical training to lower-level technicians.
  • Provides feedback to Team Leader of job status.
  • Employees may be required to travel to work at other locations.

Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Computer Skills: Must possess basic computer skills to enter data into different databases.

Education/Experience:

  • Must have completed a formal related course of study in trade through either a community college, technical or trade school, military training, formal company training program or an apprentice program.
  • Must have 10+ years of verifiable experience as a mechanic in an industrial environment (i.e., shipbuilding, ship repair or nuclear power plants).

Certificates and Licenses: Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check and obtain and maintain a security badge for all military installations and civilian shipyards as needed.
