Job summary

Wayfair is hiring a Warehouse Mechanic II in McDonough, GA. You will troubleshoot conveyor material handling systems, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection systems with minimal supervision, and handle multiple projects under tight timelines.

You will earn a $1,200 peak season bonus on top of your hourly pay and mentor teammates while coordinating maintenance activities. Proficiency with CMMS and operation of lifts and forklifts are expected, with a strong emphasis on safety and

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in industrial maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and use volt/ohm meters.
• Proficiency with relay logic, ladder diagrams, and control components.
• Proficient with CMMS software.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, aerial lifts).
• Must lift up to 75 lbs and work in non-climate controlled environments.

Warehouse Mechanic II

Location: McDonough, GA | Department: Warehouse Facilities | Job Type: Full-time | Pay: $32.67 - $34.17

The Mechanic II will be a highly self-motivated, customer-centric team player with the ability to work with little to no supervision solving difficult problems, managing outside contractors, being on call for emergencies and handling multiple projects and daily activities under tight timelines.

What You’ll Do

• Work independently and with little to no supervision to troubleshoot all conveyor material handling systems, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection systems
• Execute departmental and operational goals
• Assist in the design, layout, and reconfiguration of existing systems as necessary
• Utilize CMMS system to create and maintain the work schedule and workflow
• Work regularly on aerial platform lifts, boom/snorkel lift, and powered industrial trucks (reach, order picker, stand up, pallet runners, stock chaser, etc.)
• Mentor team members by motivating, providing guidance and direct feedback to help them achieve their goals and improve individual performance
• Develop and maintain good working relationships across all levels of the organization
• Responsible for keeping and maintaining tools, supplies, and a clean, organized work area
• Will perform emergency repairs in high pressure circumstances

What You’ll Need

• 90 days tenure in current role (minimum)
• In good standing with Talent Management (free of corrective action)
• Recommended by current reporting manager
• Minimum 3 years experience in industrial maintenance and/or combined certification(s)
• Proficient reading and comprehending electrical schematics and using associated tools such as volt/ohm meter, etc. (120,240,480VAC, 24VDC)
• Ability to install, maintain, & troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, and encoders
• Proficient using hand & power tools and electrical testing equipment including PLC systems
• Experienced safely using warehouse equipment such as order pickers, pallet jacks, forklifts and aerial lifts
• Proficient using computer systems and CMMS software
• Will be required to wear applicable personal protective equipment including arc flash protection and safety shoes
• Ability to regularly bend, lift, stretch, crawl and reach, engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists and stand and walk for long periods
• Must be comfortable repeatedly lifting up to 75 lbs unassisted
• Ability to access all areas of the building by climbing ladders and gangways safely and without limitation
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment that can be noisy and have a low lighting levels
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines
• Ability to work independently, as part of a team and take directions
• Must be a safety conscious, motivated, detail oriented, self-starter with a positive attitude
• Must be flexible on working hours and willing to work scheduled & unscheduled overtime
