Polk County in Oregon is seeking a journey level mechanic to maintain and repair automotive, emergency, and road maintenance vehicles and equipment on a full-time, on-site basis.
The role requires a high school diploma or GED and four years of journey level experience. A valid Oregon driver’s license is required; an Oregon Class A CDL must be obtained within six months of employment, and applicants must provide their own hand tools.

Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:0 p.m.
Graduation from high school or successful completion of the equivalent GED. Four years of journey level experience in the repair, modification, and maintenance of light and heavy equipment and vehicles; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

Polk County is located in the Willamette Valley just an hour from the Pacific Coast to the west and an hour from Portland to the north. The population is approximately 87,000 and the area spans about 744 square miles, with two thirds of the western part of the county being forest. National protected areas include the Baskett Slough National Wildlife Refuge and Siuslaw National Forest.
The County is part of the agricultural richness the Willamette Valley has to offer. In recent decades, the valley has also become a major wine producer, with Polk County being one of the best in the area. The valley is often known as the “Oregon Wine Country.” Polk County has over 25 wineries alone.
