Job summary

Clemens Food Group in Michigan is seeking a skilled operations professional to operate and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, air compressors, dryers, HVAC equipment, scrubbers, water chillers and pumps in a food processing facility.

You will serve on the Hazmat Emergency Response Team, wear respirator and Level A suits as needed, and participate in Process Safety Management by following SOPs and performing routine maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience operating and maintaining industrial refrigeration systems.
• Understanding of refrigeration cycle.
• Knowledge of system components (screw compressors, evaporators, condensers, pumps, valve stations).
• Knowledge of water testing and chemical treatment.
• Ability to serve on Hazmat Team and wear respirator, SCBA and Level A suit.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain ammonia refrigeration system.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain compressed air system.
• Operate, monitor and maintain steam system.
• Monitor control system parameters and perform rounds.
• Test and adjust chemical levels for condenser water treatment and boilers.
• Perform system startups and shutdowns.

• Troubleshoot systems and assist contractors.
• Serve on Hazmat Emergency Response Team.
• Wear respirator, SCBA, and Level A suit when necessary.

Description

Operate & maintain Ammonia Refrigeration System, Boilers, Air Compressors & Dryers, HVAC equipment, Scrubbers, water chillers & heaters, pumps, blowers, steam traps, valves, etc. in support of facility operations. Serve as a member of the Hazmat Emergency Response Team.

Tasks

• Operate, monitor, and maintain ammonia refrigeration system
• Operate, monitor, and maintain compressed air system
• Operate, monitor and maintain steam system
• Monitor control system parameters and make scheduled rounds checking on equipment
• Test and adjust chemical levels for condenser water treatment and boilers
• Perform system startups & shutdowns
• Perform maintenance tasks such as filter changes, oil separator changes, and oil changes.
• Troubleshoot system, make repairs, and assist contractors as needed
• Serve on Hazmat Emergency Response Team
• Wear a respirator, SCBA, and/or Level A Suit when necessary
• Participate in Process Safety Management program and follow all related procedures
