Job summary

Strategic Government Resources, Inc. is seeking a skilled mechanic to maintain and repair city vehicles and heavy equipment in Irving, TX.

The role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs from drivetrains to A/C systems, and writing estimates and work orders. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with automotive/diesel training, at least two years of relevant experience, Texas driver’s license, and ASE plus required licenses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with vocational or automotive/diesel repair training.
• Two years of relevant experience with automotive or diesel vehicles.
• Valid Texas driver's license.
• ASE certification and specified licenses.
• Own the necessary tools at hire.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work day shift and periodic after-hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled mechanical repair on city vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect and locate mechanical issues; repair or replace driveline, electrical, brake, radiator, motors, and A/C components.
• Order parts, prepare estimates, work orders and requisitions.
• Conduct vehicle and trailer state inspections; rebuilds, overhauls and tune-ups of engines.
• May work in a field service truck and do field service; after-hours on-call duties.

Education

ASE certification

State Motor Vehicle Safety and Emissions Inspector License

EPA/IMACA Refrigerant License

Forklift Operator's Safety Permit
