Job description

As an Mechanic I, you will be responsible to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all electrical control issues associated with manufacturing equipment and infrastructure. Additional responsible for a variety of skilled maintenance work to maintain facility, electrical systems, heating systems, plumbing, machine repair, hydraulics and pneumatics. This position assists higher level mechanics in more complex and involved work. Work is subject to final inspection and check.

This role is based in Beacon, New York.

A day in the life of a Mechanic I can look like:

  • Commitment to maintenance role with EHS programs to ensure compliance with federal, state and local standards governing pollution control, safety requirements, and reporting requirements
  • Assures compliance to other policies, guidelines and regulations in force and relevant to job scope
  • Participates in troubleshooting, designing and implementing mechanical controls to improve safety, quality, reliability and efficiency throughout the plant facility and machinery
  • Assist in improving effectiveness and efficiency of Preventive and Predictive maintenance
  • Maximize machine availability and minimize unplanned disruptions to production schedule.
  • Shift contact for Mechanical related enquires
  • Install, repair and maintain production equipment as well as facility infrastructure
  • Utilize CMMS System
  • Exhibit teamwork and support other members of the maintenance department

Shared accountabilities

  • Liaison with inter-company departments to minimize machine downtime and ensure optimized utilization of production machinery and systems.

We are looking for you to have (choose what is applicable)

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience as industrial mechanic
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, buildings/grounds and light electrical
  • Basic Troubleshooting skills
  • Preventative maintenance experience including oiling, greasing, inspection, testing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Prior forklift experience and current forklift certification
