Job summary

Sydnor Hydro, a UFT company, seeks a motivated Mechanic Helper for on-site work in Richmond, VA. You will assist with water and wastewater installations, repairs, and service, learning from experienced technicians and supporting equipment setup, testing and troubleshooting.

This entry-level position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. A valid driver’s license and ability to work a Monday–Friday schedule with rotating emergency on-call are required.

Qualifications

• Some experience in plumbing or electrical work is preferred.
• Motivation to learn and grow in water and wastewater systems.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and work with a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with water and wastewater system installations, repairs, and service work.
• Learn industry best practices by working alongside experienced technicians.
• Support equipment setup, testing and troubleshooting.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Assist with on-site tasks during Monday–Friday 7:00–4:30 with rotating on-call.

Mechanic Helper

Sydnor Hydro is looking for a motivated Mechanic Helper to join our growing team! This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in water and wastewater system installations and service. This is an on-site position in Richmond, VA.

• Assist with water and wastewater system installations, repairs, and service work
• Work alongside experienced technicians to learn industry best practices
• Support equipment setup, testing and troubleshooting
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment
• Some experience in plumbing or electrical work is preferred
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to safety and quality
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to work Monday-Friday 7:00-4:30 and rotating emergency on-call
• $16-20/hour
• Pay will depend on education, experience, skills, and location. The posted range reflects our current expectations but may change.
