Job description

Job Title: Mechanic Helper

Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or
2. Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsement and Alabama School Bus Drivers Certificate or obtain within 6 months of employment.
3. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as required by the State Department of

Reports To:

Transportation Supervisor

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Assists mechanic with repairs and maintenance as
2. Assist in mechanical, cleanup, inventory, and simple automotive
3. Services buses by checking/adding oil, fuel, tire pressure, and cleaning and repairing seats and
4. Assist with upkeep and maintenance of the building including sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning restrooms and other related tasks as directed by the Transportation supervisor.
5. Drives regular school bus route when assigned driver is
6. Assists in maintaining the grounds and shop area of the bus
7. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or
