Job Summary

Perform maintenance and repair of various types of mobile equipment in company shops or on public roadways. Maximize equipment availability through efficient and proactive preventative maintenance programs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Diagnose electrical problems and perform mechanical repairs on equipment including tires, concrete trucks, and heavy machinery.
  • Operate and inspect equipment to identify defects.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance such as lubricating, oil changes, and failure analysis.
  • Conduct brake inspections and adjustments on commercial vehicles following Federal DOT requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, electronics, and other components of concrete mixer trucks.
  • Remove components for repair or replacement, such as injectors, starters, water pumps, radiators, brakes, etc.
  • Create accurate work orders for repairs and services.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and review pre-trip inspections to prioritize work.
  • Input repair reports into tracking software.
  • Communicate with drivers and plant managers to ensure maintenance policies are followed.
  • Use various hand and power tools, welding equipment, and cutting torches.
  • Order parts from approved vendors and pick up parts as needed.
  • Operate fixed and mobile equipment as necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining and repairing fixed equipment as needed.
  • Follow all safety regulations and wear proper safety equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Mechanical experience required.
  • Own tools up to 1 inch.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.

  • Perform walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, and control operations.
  • Lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
