Job summary

Mountaire Farms in Maxton, NC is seeking a Feedmill Level A Mechanic to manage the maintenance preventative schedule and guide other mechanics to ensure procedures are followed for optimum operation.

You will conduct daily reviews of feed mill equipment, leverage advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and handle several routine and non-routine tasks while maintaining detailed records of work performed and parts used.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; technical training in mechanics preferred.
• 5–7 years of feedmill maintenance experience.
• Experience with 3-phase electrical systems and hydraulics.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on all feedmill equipment.
• Inspect feed mill equipment daily to detect mechanical and electrical problems.
• Respond to breakdowns and coordinate proper resources to address issues.
• Maintain required written records and reports for work performed and parts management.
• Adhere to all safety requirements, including PPE, lockout/tagout procedures and Process Safety Management matters.

Job description

Feedmill Level A mechanics are responsible managing and guiding the maintenance preventative schedule, oversee other Level Mechanics to ensure that proper procedures are performed. Conducts daily review of all feed mill equipment to ensure continuous operation at optimum levels. Possess advanced knowledge of feedmill equipment and can handle routine and non routine Must be able to detect potential mechanical and electrical problems, maintain the required written records including work performed, corrective actions, skills needed electrical, welding, torching, rigging, fabercation, pneumatic and hydrulic skill set

Duties/Activities Required by Job

• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on all Feedmill Equipment and Machinery, ensures that all procedures are properly followed while conducting a repair
• Inspect feed mill equipment daily, detect potential mechanical and electrical problems and implement solutions. Conduct consistent hourly checks on boiler room.
• Respond to breakdowns, assess and coordinate proper resources to address problem
• Maintain required written records/reports for work performed, corrective actions and parts management. Manage requisitions and inventory.
• Adhere to all safety requirements, including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions. Lock out Tag out procedures and Process Safety Management related matters

Educations/Experience Requirements

• High school. Technical training in mechanics, experience in manufacturing setting preferred.
• 5-7 yrs. Experience in Feedmill Maintenance
• Experience in 3 phase electric. Hydraulics. Able to handle a variety of routine and advanced mechanical tasks such as, but not limited to: manual blow downs, changing sight glasses, regenerate softener's, changing out pipe fittings, and housekeeping.
