Job summary

SGMC Health is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the SGA Engineering department at the Main Campus. You will perform a variety of duties around the hospital buildings, repair and maintain machinery, and help tradesmen complete tasks on site.

Applicants should have a vocational program certificate with plumbing, heating, electrical and refrigeration courses or equivalent OJT. The role requires physical effort, lifting up to 75 pounds, and possible irregular hours including weekends.

Qualifications

• Requires graduate of a vocational program with plumbing, heating, electrical and refrigeration courses or equivalent OJT equal to five years or more general maintenance mechanic work.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of duties in and around hospital buildings to assist tradesmen and other workers.
• Repairs and maintains machinery.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Requires graduate of a vocational program having plumbing, heating, electrical and refrigeration courses or equivalent OJT equal to five years or more general maintenance mechanic work.

WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION

Duties require considerable physical effort; constant standing, walking, lifting up to 75 pounds, with irregular periods of concentration. Considerable mental effort, ability to organize and manage in a high stress environment. Close review of work necessary to prevent equipment damage and for safety sake. Irregular conditions with the possibility of irregular schedules including weekends, exposure to certain levels of stress and subject to injury such as burns, cuts, and bruises. RATINGS
