Jerry's Towing & Recovery, Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Truck Mechanic to diagnose and repair issues across vehicle systems in a busy repair shop. You will maintain shop equipment, prepare cost estimates, and keep a welcoming environment for customers.

The ideal candidate will communicate clearly with customers, explain vehicle issues concisely, and provide valuable guidance for repairs and maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or automotive service technician training preferred.
• ASE certification or SAE certification preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills required.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose and repair vehicles coming into the shop.
• Carry out routine maintenance tasks (tires, oil changes, brakes).
• Inspect engines, transmissions, brakes and other systems.
• Prepare repair estimates and timelines for customers.
• Maintain accurate repair shop records and paperwork.
• Support high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to join our busy repair shop. As an Heavy Truck Mechanic, you will be diagnosing and repairing issues with vehicles' performance and function.

As an Heavy Truck Mechanic, you must have an in-depth understanding of all vehicle systems and components. You will also be responsible for maintaining repair shop equipment, preparing cost estimates, and maintaining a welcoming environment.

The ideal candidate is skilled in communicating with customers, able to explain vehicle issues clearly and concisely and provide valuable advice.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicles coming into the shop
• Carry out routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, oil changes, and brake pad replacements
• Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, and brakes
• Create repair estimates and timelines and convey information to customers in an easy-to-understand manner
• Maintain accurate repair shop records and paperwork
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred
• Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills are required
