POSITION: Mechanic Class C - Warehouse (Full-time w/benefits) LOCATION: Operations Department AVAILABLE: June 3, 2025 (exact start date approx.) COMPENSATION: $24.74 p/hr (24/25 rate) HOURS: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm DESCRIPTION: Oversee the district warehousing operations, to include but not limited to receiving, shipping, ordering, stocking and inventorying materials throughout the district. Assuring timely deliveries to all District buildings. Procuring all required tools and supplies for the district grounds, building and maintenance operations. Maintain a neat, clean and organized warehousing operation.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Working with the Operations Manager. Coordinate all shipping, receiving, distributing, organizing and controlling of district warehouse items.
  • Work with outside vendors to order supplies for maintenance & building staff.
  • Perform tasks including maintenance, minor equipment repairs, custodial duties, loading and unloading trucks, stocking of received materials as well as pulling orders for and making deliveries to all building sites as required.
  • Responsible for overseeing cleaning and preventative maintenance on district delivery vehicles and lifts.
  • Performs clerical and record keeping activities such as maintaining supply inventories, equipment use logs, custodial supply and equipment requisitions, etc.
  • Operate snow removal equipment.
  • Review inventory requests in districts software platform, verify orders and reconcile inventory. Pull orders for all district buildings

REQUIREMENTS: To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each principle duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary.

  • Education - High School diploma or equivalent, plus two years experience in warehouse operations and minor building maintenance.
  • Required ability to perform minor building repairs and use all types of special tools or pieces of equipment assigned for the performance of duties.
  • Ability to operate safely a forklift truck as well as being responsible for the safe operation and cleanliness of the district delivery vehicles as well as any other equipment regarding warehouse operations.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Must be knowledgeable of safety regulations and proper methods for operating building maintenance and repair tools and equipment.
  • Available for emergency snow plowing and removal.
  • Must be able to properly dilute and use cleaning chemicals and floor finishes.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Must be courteous and able to deal effectively with people.
  • Must be cooperative and able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read, write and do simple computations.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in prioritizing tasks.
  • Able to communicate effectively.

  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and to talk and hear.
  • Stand, walk, stoop, bend and occasionally be required to kneel, crouch and sit.
  • Have specific vision abilities, to include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Have the ability to lift and/or move 70 to 100 pounds, frequent carrying up to 50 to 75 pounds, manual dexterity to open and check incoming shipments and walking throughout warehouse for extended periods of time.
  • Have the ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, work platforms and other rigging when necessary.
  • Work inside and outside regardless of weather conditions and is subject to shocks, burns, bruises, cuts and scraps. Exposure to dust, dirt and grease, injuries from the operation of tools and equipment. Is required to perform many disagreeable tasks, e.g., removing or cleaning urine, fecal matter, vomit, etc. Possible exposure to asbestos containing materials.
  • May be required to wear protective clothing and equipment.

Must have valid Pa. drivers license.
