Job summary

The Drexel University Facilities department is seeking a qualified tradesperson to provide plumbing and general maintenance services for residence halls. The successful candidate will demonstrate journeyman level plumbing and maintenance skills and work with a union team in a full-time role.

Responsibilities include plumbing installation, repair tasks, drain and leak fixes, and interpretation of mechanical plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a degree from a Vocational or Technical School.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, repair, and installation of plumbing fixtures and hardware (faucets, drains, sinks, toilets, valves, piping).
• General repairs: ceilings, doors, hardware installation, lamp and fixture replacement.
• Clear unclog drains and repair leaks.
• Read and interpret mechanical plans and prints.
• Complete daily work orders with minimal supervision.
• Work at heights over 10 ft using ladders, scaffolds, or lifts.
• Wear respiratory protection; annual fit test required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Drexel University Facilities department is searching to fill one maintenance position that will be responsible for providing plumbing and general maintenance service in the residence halls. Candidates must possess journeyman level plumbing and maintenance skills.

Essential Functions

• General maintenance, repair, and installation of plumbing fixtures and hardware such as faucets, drains, showers, manual and automatic flushometers, sinks, water closets, urinals, valves and piping.
• General repair tasks including ceiling repair, door repair, installing hardware, lamp replacement and light fixture repair.
• Clearing and unclogging drains and repairing leaks.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical plans and prints.
• Completing daily work order assignments under minimum supervision.
• Working at heights greater than 10 feet from ladders, scaffold and lift equipment.
• Wearing of respiratory protective equipment (annual pulmonary fit test required).
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a degree from a Vocational or Technical School.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• City of Philadelphia Plumber's License or equivalent preferred.
