Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title : LAX Station Mechanic

Department : Maintenance

Reports To : Line Station Managers

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Conduct Terminating Service maintenance checks every 50 flight hours, following the KA General Maintenance Manual.
  • Perform all required aircraft servicing such as wheel and brake replacement, engine oil servicing, replacing burnt out bulbs, and cleaning struts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair defects, ensuring all return-to-service paperwork is completed accurately and promptly.
  • Send repair information to Maintenance Control upon completion of work.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the GMM, Maintenance Control, or supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. Requirements include an A&P license and preferably previous 747 experience. Tools are also required.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :

High school diploma is required; some college or technical training is desirable.

LANGUAGE SKILLS :

Ability to read, write, and understand spoken and written English. Capable of writing routine reports and giving verbal instructions to staff.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Employees must meet physical requirements to perform essential functions, with reasonable accommodations for disabilities. Tasks include reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, and manual operations. Occasionally, lifting over 50 pounds, working at heights, on ladders, or in various weather conditions is required.

  • Lift and move objects over 50 pounds to eye level.
  • Lift 10 pounds overhead with each arm.
  • Twist, turn, climb stairs, and work at high elevations.
  • Work in squatted positions and all weather conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :
