Empower Rental Group is hiring a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic Level 3 for the Evansville, IN branch. This role focuses on preparing rental equipment for delivery, performing repairs, and servicing units at customer sites. Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience, own basic tools, and a valid driver's license may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with loading and unloading fleet orders.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment powertrain, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose issues using a computer analyzer and standard troubleshooting methods.
• Complete service calls at customer sites and prepare rental equipment for delivery.
• Maintain a safe and clean yard and shop area; drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Our Diesel Mechanics prepare rental equipment for delivery, make appropriate modifications and repairs to units before delivery, and clean units before delivery. Our Mechanics repair and clean equipment upon return from customer sites and complete service calls for units currently located at customer sites as assigned. Our Mechanics also complete preventative maintenance as needed as well as general yard work such as cleaning or preparing areas of work.

Responsibilities

• Assists customers with loading and unloading fleet orders.
• Makes notes on rental tags.
• Assists customers with questions/customer service as applicable.
• Assists other mechanics with tasks such as lifting or moving heavy objects.
• Cleans up the yard and shop area.
• May perform repairs on the small fleet.
• Completes basic rent-ready checkouts.
• Diagnoses standard issues with heavy equipment powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems using a computer analyzer and traditional troubleshooting methods.
• Complete simple and standard repairs to the fleet.
• Complete inspections.
• Completes any type of work with supervision.
• Completes preventative maintenance such as changing filters, checking fluids, and filling tires.
• Inspects equipment for general safety requirements such as fire extinguishers.
• Maintains a safe work environment.
• Assists in driving a continuous improvement strategy within the business to result in ongoing incremental gains in quality and efficiency.
• Maintains a safe work environment.
• Demonstrates behaviors aligned with the Company’s Core Values at all times.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Over 3-5 years of experience
• A Valid Driver’s License and the Ability to Drive Company Vehicles per Insurance Requirements may be required on a case-by-case basis, depending on branch needs.
• Provide exceptional customer support and service during field visits.
• Excellent Customer Service Skills – for both internal and external customers.
• Exhibits average computer skills.
• Completes rental equipment preparation by delivery date.
• Maintains a ready line.
