Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Cockeysville, MD to perform safe repair and preventative maintenance on rock crusher and fixed plant equipment at our sites. The role requires safety focus, dependability, and the ability to work off shifts including weekends.

You will repair stationary and mobile equipment, including conveyors, shakers, pumps and gearboxes, and contribute to equipment reliability and plant uptime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• 1 year of welding and maintenance experience.
• Mining industry experience preferred.
• Welding certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication, welding, cutting, greasing, housekeeping and related shop duties.
• Maximize equipment performance by performing repairs and preventive maintenance on schedule.
• Perform diagnostic/repair work with limited supervision.
• Use electrical and pressure testing equipment per safety standards.
• Complete paperwork to maintain equipment and run the plant per standards.
• Erect processing equipment and service mobile equipment as needed.
• Conduct MSHA pre-shift safety inspections.

This individual will primarily be responsible for the safe repair, planned, and preventative maintenance of rock crusher machines and other fixed plant equipment at our operating sites.

What to expect:and

Martin Marietta is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently repairing and maintaining plant industrial equipment and machinery. The maintenance mechanic position is responsible for repairing and maintaining stationary machinery, mobile equipment, and mechanical equipment such as conveyor systems, shakers, pumps, gearboxes, etc. This position is also responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of aggregate plant processing equipment and repair of mobile equipment.

Hours are 2 pm - 12 am including weekends as necessary.

A Typical Day For A(n) Maintenance Mechanic May Include

• Performing various roles, including fabrication, welding, cutting, greasing, housekeeping and various other shop or processing duties
• Maximizing performance of equipment by performing repairs and ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis
• Performing simple and intermediate type diagnosis/repairs without constant supervision
• Utilizing electrical and pressure testing equipment within the company guidelines and safety standards
• Completing required paperwork to maintain equipment and to run the plant according to Martin Marietta Materials standards
• Performing erection of processing equipment and makes repairs to processing equipment and mobile equipment
• Conducting MSHA pre-shift safety inspections of equipment and work area
• Operating other equipment such as loaders and haul trucks in a safe manner as needed
• Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

You May Be a Good Fit If You

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
• Have one (1) year of experience in welding and maintenance
• Have experience in welding and maintenance in the mining industry (preferred)
• Possess a welding certification (a plus)

The hiring range for this position is $25.50 - $33.45 exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The hiring range for this role represents the base compensation we expect to pay for the position at time of hire and does not represent the total possible base pay of the position.
