Responsibilities

  • Install and test bearings, seals, motors, valves, piping and related components.
  • Complete work orders and maintain maintenance records accurately.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate replenishment.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and contractor personnel for safety.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, OSHA, DOT/PHMSA and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment.

Description

MVP Holdings is a privately owned energy logistics company headquartered in Wichita, KS. MVP and its subsidiaries provide gathering, transportation, processing, storage, distribution, marketing and other midstream services to independent oil and natural gas producers, refiners of petroleum and products and other market participants located throughout the United States.

We are currently looking for a Mechanic to join our team in Electra, TX. This position is responsible for all aspects of repairs, preventative maintenance, testing and identifying maintenance issues in the pipelines and gathering systems. Our ideal candidate will be hard-working, self motivated, and eager to learn. This position would be a great opportunity for someone looking to grow or build upon existing experience.

Essential Functions
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on pipeline mechanical equipment.
  • Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems at pipeline facilities, compressor stations, and other operational assets.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify equipment deficiencies, leaks, excessive wear, and other mechanical issues.
  • Install, replace, align, and test mechanical components including bearings, seals, couplings, belts, motors, valves, and piping assemblies.
  • Complete work orders, maintenance records, and inspection documentation accurately.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and notify supervision of parts or materials replenishment.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, and contractor personnel to support safe and reliable pipeline operations.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, DOT/PHMSA pipeline safety regulations, environmental requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while promoting a strong safety culture.
Other Functions
  • Complete other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned by management.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all certifications for Operator Qualifications, Safety, and any other regulatory requirements.
  • Strong commitment to job safety, understanding company policies and company practices, and staying informed and following regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and dexterity in the use of tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret alignment sheets, schematics, and P&IDs, as well as perform basic mathematical calculations (additions, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals).
  • Proficient in written and verbal English communication.
  • Exhibit ability and desire to work independently and as part of a team as required.
  • Utilize basic computer skills, including spreadsheet and word processing applications, and possess the technical capacity to learn other software programs as needed.
  • Internally motivated to start tasks and projects and committed to follow them until completion.
  • Organized; able to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks and projects effectively.
  • Attention to detail and ability to catch errors and inconsistencies in own work.
  • Ability to critically evaluate complex situations and make decisions.
Education, Certifications, License
  • Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires a valid Driver’s License.
Work Experience
  • 1+ year(s) of direct oil field experience is preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use arms, legs, and moving the whole body.
  • Ability to walk, climb, stoop, reach, crawl, crouch, stand and kneel for an extensive amount of time.
  • Ability to grasp and use hand tools and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperature due to weather conditions and operating conditions.
  • Ability to frequently travel to field sites.
  • Ability to periodically travel for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to be available for responding to emergency situations after work hours, nights, weekends, and on call as needed.
