Job summary

Supermix in New York is seeking a skilled Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair and perform preventive maintenance on heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, and construction equipment.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of truck-mechanic experience, own tools, and strong knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a truck mechanic; ASE certifications preferred but not required. Must have own tools.
  • Working knowledge of specialized tooling and shop equipment. Some welding experience.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle hydraulics, electrical systems, engine, transmission, drive axles and brakes.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-starter able to work with others or by themselves.
  • Be able to complete tasks within specific deadlines and be detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Repair Ready Mix Concrete Trucks, Block Trucks, Heavy Equipment and other motor vehicles as needed.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance of equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple mechanic duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform routine vehicle/equipment maintenance.
  • Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle/equipment components.
  • Perform quality inspections prior to returning the vehicle/equipment to company operations.
  • Provide daily written reports of services/repairs performed.
  • Comply with safety regulations, maintain work area safe, clean and orderly work areas.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

Job description
