Job summary

Northern Tool + Equipment is seeking a Mechanic to service and repair products brought in for repair, source and order parts, and maintain knowledge of brand lines. The role emphasizes customer relations, safety, and a positive team environment.

Candidate should have 1+ years of experience with small engines, strong communication, and the ability to explain diagnostics to customers; fluency in Spanish preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience repairing and maintaining small engines.
• The skills to clearly explain the diagnosis and repair of the machine to the customer.
• The ability to recognize and observe all safety and security procedures.
• The desire to treat others with respect and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
• The drive to work with integrity, always upholding company values, while operating a profitable service business.
• Strong organizational skills and fluency with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of small engine theory (2 and 4 stroke): lubrication, cooling, ignition and fuel systems.
• Certifications in major manufacture brands like Honda, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, etc.
• Master certification is a plus!
• Extensive experience with electrical systems, pumps, hydraulic theory, and diagnostic equipment.

Your number one priority as a Mechanic will be to service and repair products that are brought to the store for repair. The Mechanic promotes strong customer relations, a positive work environment and is also responsible for sourcing and ordering parts.
