Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform troubleshooting of complex hospital systems, including elevator recalls, and to perform general maintenance and repairs across multiple skilled trades relevant to the healthcare environment.

The role requires reading and understanding prints/diagrams, and the ability to work with few supervision while ensuring reliable facility operation. A HS diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in large plant operations or equivalent.
• Knowledge of materials, lubricants, hydraulics, pneumatics, and gear/belt drives.
• Ability to read/understand prints/diagrams for buildings and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot complex hospital systems including elevator recalls and general maintenance/repairs without assistance.
• Apply knowledge of multiple trades relevant to healthcare facilities to diagnose and repair issues.
• Operate with minimal supervision to ensure continuous facility operation.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer the ability to read schematics and blueprints.
• Prefer the ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance in plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and general maintenance without supervision.
• Prefer familiarity with computers and related software (Windows Operating Systems).
• Prefer familiarity with codes applicable to field and industry.
• Prefer proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Prefer working knowledge of hand tools pertinent to trade(s).
• Prefer the ability to work with minimal supervision.
