Job summary

Ruppert Landscape Co is seeking a Mechanic to maintain and repair a diverse fleet, including diesel and gas vehicles, mowers, trailers, and landscape tools. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment safe and reliable.

You will document service records, uphold safety standards, and support internal customers with timely, quality service. This role offers hands-on training and opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of hands-on mechanical experience.
• Safety-first mindset and adherence to safety regulations.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with gas/diesel engines and landscaping equipment.
• Willingness to supply personal tools.
• Good communication and organization.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment including diesel/gas trucks, mowers, and landscape tools.
• Recondition vehicles and equipment twice a year to meet safety and image standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
• Accurately document and maintain service and repair records.
• Provide exceptional internal customer service with focus on efficiency and quality.
• Assist with other operational tasks as assigned.

Where You Fit In

As a Mechanic on our in-house fleet team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and servicing a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including diesel/gas trucks, commercial mowers, and two-cycle equipment. This role is essential in upholding our company's image and keeping our operations teams working safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment, including power equipment, mowers, trucks, trailers, and other landscape tools
• Recondition vehicles and equipment twice a year to ensure they meet company image standards and are safe, reliable, and ready for use
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
• Accurately document and maintain service and repair records
• Provide exceptional internal customer service, prioritizing efficiency, quality, and communication
• Assist with other operational tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• A safety-first mindset with a commitment to adhering to safety regulations and promoting safe work practices
• Minimum of one year of hands-on mechanical experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude, especially with gas/diesel vehicles and landscaping equipment
• Ability to supply personal tools as needed to perform the role
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the organization
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
• Experience with diesel engines and bilingual ability (English/Spanish) are preferred but not required
