Job summary

DS Bus Lines Inc. is seeking a qualified Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of motor vehicles used in student transportation. The role includes communicating with vehicle operators, performing routine maintenance, and replacing parts to keep buses safe and reliable.

Starting pay is $21.13 per hour with higher earnings possible for experienced candidates. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life/AD&D, Short-Term Disability, 401K with Employer Match, and an Accident Plan.

Qualifications

  • One year of mechanic experience is required.
  • High school diploma is required.
  • Strong communication with vehicle operators.

Responsibilities

  • Assess vehicles to diagnose and repair issues.
  • Communicate with drivers to determine requirements.
  • Perform routine inspections and inform clients of issues.
  • Prepare quotes and work estimates.
  • Maintain accurate logs of work performed.
  • Keep garage equipment clean and safe.
  • Adhere to safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

A Mechanic is responsible for investigating problems with different types of motor vehicles and making repairs accordingly. Their duties include communicating with vehicle operators to discuss their concerns, carrying out routine maintenance procedures on motor vehicles and replacing parts on motor vehicles to promote their functionality.

Starting pay is $21.13/hour, more with experience.

Responsibility Profile
  • Assess vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues.
  • Liaise with clients and drivers to determine their automotive requirements and communicate vehicular defects or problems.
  • Provide routine inspections of vehicles and inform clients of any issues.
  • Prepare quotes and work estimates as requested.
  • Keep an accurate log of all work performed.
  • Maintain and clean garage equipment and tools to ensure they are always kept in a safe and usable condition.
  • Adhere to company work safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • One (1) year of mechanic experience.
  • High school diploma.
