Job summary

Hi-Speed Industrial Service is seeking an experienced Motor Repair Technician with a passion for machinery and a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. You will repair motors, fans, pumps, and gearboxes, test equipment, and perform field service to keep customers running.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, are willing to learn, and can handle ladders, lifting, and long walking distances. DOT health certification and a valid license are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Licensing/Registration/Certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and DOT health certification required.
  • Desire and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders and lift 50 pounds.
  • Capable of climbing multiple flights of stairs and walking long distances.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and service industrial motors, fans, pumps, and gear boxes per standards.
  • Test electromechanical equipment to troubleshoot problems using various methods.
  • Disassemble electro-mechanical equipment noting parts and condition.
  • Retest reassembled equipment for proper output and operation.
  • Complete required paperwork promptly.
  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment as needed.
  • Perform field service work as needed.

Summary/Objective

Hi-Speed Industrial Service is searching for an experienced Motor Repair Technician that is well versed in industrial electric motors, fans, pumps, gearboxes, etc. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about machinery and how it operates, have a strong mechanical aptitude, and understand electrical circuits. This is a key position playing a critical role in keeping our customers functioning.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Repair and service industrial motors, fans, pumps, and gear boxes in accordance with existing manufacturing standards in the timeliest, cost effective and safest way possible.
  • Test electromechanical equipment (ac or dc) to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods.
  • Disassemble electro-mechanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration, and condition.
  • Clean electro-mechanical equipment assemblies as needed using various methods and steps, including but not limited to: bearings, brushes, brush holders, motor leads, gears, seal, impellers, mechanical switches, brakes, clutches, clutch rotors, tachs, fans, end shields, etc…
  • Retest reassembled electro-mechanical equipment for proper output and operation.
  • Complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment and other equipment as needed
  • Perform field service work as needed.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience
The Successful Candidate, Will Have The Following Skills
  • Ability to work with and earn the respect of others.
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Licensing/Registration/Certification preferred
  • Valid Drivers License and DOT Health Certification required
  • Must have desire and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders.
  • Must have lift 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs like up to 6 stories is common.
  • Ability to walk extensive distances greater than 10,000 steps per day at times.
