Job summary

JMF Underground Inc. is seeking a Motor Vehicle Mechanic to repair and maintain cars, trucks, and heavy equipment in its Central PA fleet. The role includes diagnosing issues, performing welding, and traveling to active job sites.

Ideal candidates have an inspection license, tool ownership, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. A clean background and valid license are required; CDL is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Inspection license.
• Must be able to use all tools and equipment necessary to perform work assignments.
• Must have own tools.
• Must be able to perform all physical aspects of the job.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic mathematics and computer skills.
• Recognize and follow company procedures and policies.
• CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair heavy equipment and trucks in the company fleet.
• Diagnose operational difficulties across brands and types of equipment.
• Troubleshoot and fix issues quickly and efficiently.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Travel to active job sites to perform mechanical work.
• Some welding and fabrication.
• Operate all products and models of our equipment.

About The Role

• The Motor Vehicle Mechanic will perform repair work and maintenance for cars, trucks, and other motor vehicles in the company’s fleet.

Essential Functions

• Maintain and repair heavy equipment and trucks as well as light duty trucks an equipment
• Able to pick up 50lbs
• Ability to stand, crouch, kneel, and stretch for long periods of time while working
• Some welding and fabrication
• Walk and work on uneven ground, requiring stable footing
• Diagnose operational difficulties experienced by several brands and types of equipment
• Ability to trouble shoot and identify issues and fix them quickly and efficiently
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Travel to active job sites is required to perform mechanical work.

Minimum Qualifications

• Prior mechanic experience
• Inspection license
• Must be able to use all tools and equipment necessary to perform work assignments
• Must have own tools
• Must be able to perform all physical aspects of the job stated above
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic mathematics and computer skills
• Recognize and follow company procedures and policies
• Ability to operate all products and models of our equipment
• Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record
• Clean background check

Physical demands

• Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic
• Work 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks x 5 days/week (O overtime/weekend work will be required)
• Ability to work in extreme conditions – Temps below freezing and above 100 Degrees F
• Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs.
• Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day
