Job summary

Frank Black Pipe & Supply Co. is seeking a skilled and motivated full-time Mechanic to join our team! We are a family owned and operated steel pipe dealer based in McPherson, Kansas, providing steel pipe and other related steel material. This position involves working on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment, including:

• Semi-trucks and trailers
• Loaders, forklifts, and UTVs
• Welders, generators, and lawn equipment

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on diverse equipment
• Complete and submit repair orders accurately, tracking time and expenses
• Conduct preventative maintenance, manage schedules of all units – includes parts ordering/management of parts & supply inventory
• Class A CDL required, training available for the right candidate
• DOT inspections
• Drive company vehicles when needed
• Assist in the Pipe Yard and/or Weld Shop as required

Requirements/Experience:

• Required: 1–5 years, Preferred: 5+ years
• Recent technical school graduates considered based on ability
• DOT Certification:REQUIRED
• Strong organizational skills, reliability, and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and listening skills; team-oriented
• Computer proficiency and problem-solving ability

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Positive attitude and willingness to assist other departments
