Qualifications

  • Ability to pass background screening and drug testing requirements.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair trailers, vehicles, and related mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance including brakes, tires, lighting systems, hydraulic components, suspension systems, and structural repairs.
  • Complete welding and fabrication work for repairs, modifications, and equipment improvements.
  • Inspect equipment for operational and safety concerns and document maintenance activities as required.
  • Maintain tools, work areas, and maintenance facilities in a clean and organized condition.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and maintenance policies.
  • Assist with additional maintenance, operational, or repair duties as assigned.
  • Communicate equipment issues, repair status, and maintenance needs to supervisors and operations personnel.

Description

The Mechanic position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trailers, vehicles, and equipment used throughout company operations. This position performs preventative maintenance, welding, fabrication, and mechanical repairs to support safe, reliable, and efficient fleet and equipment operations.

The Mechanic is expected to maintain equipment in accordance with company maintenance standards, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements while minimizing downtime and supporting operational needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair trailers, vehicles, and related mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance including brakes, tires, lighting systems, hydraulic components, suspension systems, and structural repairs.
  • Complete welding and fabrication work for repairs, modifications, and equipment improvements.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding work in an industrial and outdoor environment.

Employees must be able to:

  • Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive bending, climbing, reaching, kneeling, crawling, lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing throughout the workday.
  • Work in outdoor and non-climate-controlled environments including heat, humidity, dust, and varying weather conditions.
  • Safely work around heavy equipment, vehicles, welding operations, and shop equipment.
  • Wear required PPE including respirators, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and other safety equipment as required.
  • Work flexible schedules, overtime, weekends, or extended hours as operational needs require.
