Job summary

Schlumberger is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support Lafayette, LA operations. You will ensure on-time delivery of equipment per operational demands and drive maintenance efficiency and asset productivity across the Maintenance Base.

Key duties include maintaining equipment per maintenance programs, recording labor and parts in the TLM system, and participating in continuous improvement projects to reduce downtime and improve CoSD.

Qualifications

  • Experience as wireline surface mechanic preferred.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting on wireline surface equipment.
  • Willing to be on call and work 40+ hrs per week at the base in Lafayette, LA.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain assigned equipment according to the maintenance program and reliability centered maintenance strategy.
  • Record materials, labor costs and equipment maintenance history in the TLM systems.
  • Comply with Division TLM standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement culture to improve asset utilization and cost of service delivery (CoSD).
  • Assist in reducing downtime and improving asset turnaround time and throughput.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and productivity of Maintenance Technicians.
  • Implement CoSD projects, such as repair and reuse of parts.
  • Participate in failure investigations as assigned.
  • Comply with the TLM Competency Management System.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of equipment as per operational demands. The Maintenance Technician improves maintenance related nonproductive time ratio of the Division's assets within the Maintenance Base (MB) and improves maintenance efficiency and people productivity.

  • Maintain assigned equipment according to the pertinent maintenance program and compliant with the reliability centered maintenance strategy through adherence to the Computerized Maintenance Management System and standard work.
  • Adhere to transactional discipline within Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) business systems to record materials and supplies, labor costs and equipment maintenance performance history such as movements, work orders, parts used and time to maintain.
  • Comply with Division TLM standards.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement culture, initiatives and improvement plans within the MB to improve asset utilization and cost of service delivery (CoSD).
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve asset turnaround time, which includes reducing downtime due to maintenance, parts and return authorization numbers, failures and work-in-process.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to improve the efficiency and productivity of Maintenance Technicians.
  • Implement CoSD projects, such as the planned repair and reuse of parts.
  • Participate in failure investigations as assigned.
  • Comply with the TLM Competency Management System.

Note: Please consider the following clarifications for job titles:

  • Mechanic – Performs work on surface equipment (industrial OEM mechanical equipment, e.g. trucks, units etc.)
  • Mechanical Technician – Performs work on downhole tools
  • WHE Service Technician – Performs work on well head equipment (WHE)

Qualifications and Experience

  • Preferably, previous experience as Wireline surface mechanic.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting ability on wireline surface equipment.
