Overview

The Forklift and Truck Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing company forklifts, delivery trucks, and other material handling equipment. This role ensures all equipment is safe, reliable, and operating efficiently to support daily warehouse and delivery operations.

Position Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance of all vehicles and forklifts following manufacturer guidelines and company standards.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and other issues and complete necessary repairs.
• Demonstrate a good working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, engine, brake systems and tire/wheel changes.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns quickly to minimize downtime.
• Assist with prioritizing repairs based on operational needs.
• Order and track parts needed for repairs and maintenance work.
• Maintain accurate records of service work, parts used, and inspection results.
• Communicate effectively with operations and warehouse teams regarding equipment status.
• Ensure all forklifts and vehicles meet OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.
• Ensure work area and methods meet safety requirements.
• Work with vendors and service providers as needed.
• Stay familiar with and learn new technical information and techniques.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
