Position Summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. (Jorgensen) is currently seeking a full‑time General Mechanic to support fleets at two locations in the Houston, TX & Porter, TX area. The role involves performing a variety of vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair tasks while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Employees must be able to provide their own set of basic mechanic’s tools.

Required Experience

• 10 years of repair and maintenance experience with a variety of automotive and mechanical equipment

Preferred Experience

• General Mechanic
• Vocational training and/or technical certificate or equivalent

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Background checks (criminal record, driving record, controlled substance/drug testing) must be maintained
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Basic arithmetic skills
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use a smartphone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate hand and power tools
• High level of safety consciousness and clear understanding of equipment and safety requirements

Schedule

Full time; Monday‑Friday and on‑call. Must be flexible and able to work during weather events.
