Prestone in Freehold, NJ is hiring a Mechanic (Maintenance Technician) to join our production team. The role requires setting up equipment, troubleshooting problems with operators, following technical manuals, and performing repairs to keep lines running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging or manufacturing environment, can work overtime, lift up to 50 lbs, and communicates clearly.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for periods of time.
• Able to work scheduled overtime or shift changes when required.
• Able to lift to 50 pounds periodically throughout the shift with physical duties.
• Basic math skills.
• Excellent communication skill set (verbal, written, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Sets up production equipment to run scheduled production.
• Discusses difficulties with machine operators to isolate problems and perform repairs.
• Reads and follows directions in technical manuals and documents changes for traceability.
• Performs repairs to keep equipment in top running order.
• Performs major mechanical overhauls of packaging equipment.
• Carries out preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Assists in design Modifications and implements approved changes.
• Complies with approved procedures and GMP safety rules.
• Provides coverage for mechanics on other shifts as needed.
• Works independently and in team settings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Mechanic (Maintenance Technician)

Shifts (2 openings)

1st – 7:30am-4:00pm

2nd – 3:30pm-12:00am

Your Role at Prestone

Our Freehold, NJ Plant is looking for a self-motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to be part of our growing team. What You’ll Be Doing

• Sets up production equipment to run scheduled production
• Discusses difficulties in operating equipment with machine operators to isolate problems and then troubleshoots machine to determine cause and repairs required.
• Must be able to read and follow directions as found in technical manuals as well as be able to document any and all changes they are involved in. so as to refer back to the notes and records a thereby gain understanding as to how to set up lines an adjust machines and conveyors as needed.
• Performs necessary repairs on equipment to keep it in top running order.
• Must be able to perform major mechanical overhauls of some packaging equipment
• Carries out required preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Assists in determining required design modifications and makes approved modifications to equipment.
• Performs tasks in accordance with approved procedures and following all safety procedures and GMPs
• Provides coverage for mechanics on other shifts, as needed.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team setting.
• Other duties as assigned

• Able to lift to 50 pounds periodically throughout the manufacturing shift and meet physical requirements of position including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, reaching with both hands/arms, ability to visually inspect product

Benefits

Pay Range- $27-$37 per hour depending on experience

Benefit eligible 1st of month after 30 days. 401k eligible after 90 days of employment.
