Job summary

BARD Materials seeks a fleet diesel mechanic to diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks, conduct mechanical maintenance of the company fleet, assist plant operations, perform on-road repairs, and manage preventative maintenance across equipment.

Ideal candidates are self-driven, able to make independent decisions, and focused on safety, quality, and customer service while collaborating with team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Driver's License / CDL preferred.
• Experience in diesel mechanics and heavy-duty truck maintenance preferred.
• Additional training or hands-on experience in diesel mechanics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transmission and engine installations.
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise with fleet.
• Provide instruction to vehicle operators to aid in the repair of their truck.
• Repair mechanical problems on trucks.
• Repair electrical problems on trucks.
• Organize, track, and log all completed repairs.
• Analyze defected equipment to determine required repairs.
• Ability to use computer diagnostics software.
• Inspect and drive repaired vehicles to quality check work performed.
• Hydraulic maintenance, preventive maintenance, brake/steering adjustments, electrical diagnostics and repair, and A/C service.
• Operate a commercial motor vehicle (mixer, dump, tanker) as needed.
• Use computer system for record management of maintenance reports for the fleet.
• Perform plant and facility maintenance at ready mix, sand, and crushing plants.
• Perform other duties as directed by management in line with company objectives.

• Can operate a computer system for record management of maintenance reports for the fleet as a whole and trucks, individually
• Perform plant and facility maintenance at ready mix, sand, and crushing plants which will include basic electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic trouble shooting.
• Perform other duties or functions as directed by management in line with the business objectives of the company.

Education, License and Certifications

High school or equivalent (Required) Driver's License, Commercial Driver's License (Preferred) Additional training, certifications, or hands-on experience in diesel mechanics, heavy-duty truck maintenance, and commercial fleet repair (Preferred)
