Job summary

TelCom Construction, LLC is seeking a Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of vehicles and equipment. You will diagnose issues, recommend maintenance, and ensure safe operation across all machines.

The role requires 1+ year of mechanic experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to provide basic tools. We offer weekly pay, PTO, insurance coverage, a 401(k) with match, stock purchase plan, education reimbursement, legal insurance, and various voluntary discounts.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of mechanic experience, preferably with fleet or commercial equipment.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Mechanics may provide their own basic tools; shop supplies larger tools as needed.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems; proficient with diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Determine repair or maintenance plans based on cost/benefit analysis.
• Conduct diagnostics to troubleshoot failures in vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect and recommend proactive maintenance strategies.
• Follow procedures for repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment like trackhoes and backhoes.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations.
• Ensure vehicles are clean and fueled at all times.
• Operate and test vehicles and equipment for proper function.
• Maintain a clean, orderly workspace.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Mechanics may be expected to provide their own standard tools. The shop will supply large-diameter and specialty tools as needed
• A minimum of 1 year experience as a mechanic, preferably with a focus on fleet vehicles or commercial equipment
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Proficient in diagnostic tools and equipment

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: Climb stairs, lift between 26 and 55 pounds, bend, stoop, fine hand motion, squeeze, stand, use portable ladder, walk, work in confined spaces, work with arms above shoulder level, operate heavy machinery and vehicles
• Occasionally: use keyboard & mouse, lift greater than 55 pounds, work alone in remote locations, and at heights
