Job Description

Under direct supervision, responsible for the proper operation, adjustments, repairs, lubrications, and preventive maintenance required on agricultural trailers.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrates the importance of safety and quality in every aspect of the job.
• Learns and utilizes established communication procedures.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Carefully handles various pieces of equipment, tools, and machinery.
• Assesses machinery during operation and makes repairs as needed.
• Performative preventative maintenance according to established PM schedules.
• Performs scheduled and unscheduled repairs.
• Under Journeyman supervision, utilizes shop equipment to complete repairs as needed (cutters, welders, milling machine, grinders, and cutting equipment).
• Maintains appropriate inventory levels (parts and supplies).
• Initiates recommendations for the purchase of equipment, parts, and supplies.
• Reads and understands product specifications and drawings, and to follow Preventive Maintenance Procedures.
• Follows established policies and procedures, including safety procedures.
• Utilizes hand tools (both manual and powered) to perform machine adjustments and repairs.
• Completes routine "housekeeping" duties throughout the shift and at other times as assigned.
• Completes required paperwork to document PM's, and daily production accomplishments.
• Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory consideration.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 1 year of mechanical experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
• Candidates for this position must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver's license or appropriate state driver's license within 30 days of hire.
• Required to work overtime as necessary.
• Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
• Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and diving using whole numbers.
• Required to lift up to 60 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 3 years of mechanical experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
• Basic electrical understanding.
• Basic understanding of electrical equipment.

Compensation

Hiring Hourly Rate: $23.08 - $27.12

Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
