Job summary

JLL is looking for a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician based in Crest Hill, IL. This role involves supporting the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment. You will install and repair automated equipment and mentor junior technicians to develop their skills.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and at least 2 years of experience in related fields, with responsibilities including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

Job description

Mechatronics & Robotics Technician – JLL

As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, and mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
• Complete preventive maintenance routines with proper documentation
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all material handling equipment (belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more)
• Maintain a positive working relationship across all operations facilities
• Track and store department inventory
• Move up to 49 pounds, stand, and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Possible travel up to 20% at a minimum

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
• 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment
• 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventive maintenance procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical field from a vocational school or college
• 2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls
• 1+ year of blueprint and electrical schematic reading
• 1+ year of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles
• Experience with MHE safety standards according to OEM and safety regulations
• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance
• Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions

Physical Demands

• Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking
• Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally up to 49 pounds
• Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, foot pedals, and wrist motion
• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, hot/cold temperatures, noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, and wet or uneven surfaces
• Standing/walking on concrete surfaces for 10+ hour shifts
• Working at heights (as stated previously)
• Pushing/pulling wheeled equipment and carts up to 100+ pounds
• Maneuvering awkward or bulky equipment parts
• Working in cramped positions under/behind machinery

Compensation

Estimated compensation: 61,547.00 – 61,547.20 USD per year
