Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Meat & Seafood Manager to oversee the Meat & Seafood Department's sales and operations. The role requires 2+ years of meat cutting experience in grocery or restaurant settings and proven leadership by coaching and developing the team.

You will manage cutting lists, inventory, scheduling, and performance reviews, ensuring top-quality product and outstanding customer service in a fast-paced store environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' meat cutting experience in grocery or restaurant industry including leadership experience.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift 25–90 lbs.
• Basic math, weights and measures knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Plan, order, and prepare cutting lists to maximize sales and gross profit.
• Ensure correct ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, and rotation of merchandise and displays.
• Coach and evaluate team members; participate in bi-annual performance reviews.
• Attend in-store meetings; assist with hiring, promotions, and transfers in collaboration with Store Manager.
• Adjust schedules and staffing levels to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Communicate standards, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
• Lead a team to deliver top-quality products and exceptional customer service.
• Act as Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed; collaborate with HR on performance issues.

Overview Of Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Meat & Seafood Manager is responsible for the sales and operation of the Meat & Seafood Department.

• Plan, order, and prepare cutting lists. Process meat according to department goals and standards to maximize sales and gross profit.
• Ensure correct ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, and rotation of merchandise and displays.
• Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions, and make recommendations on merit increases via completing the bi-annual performance review process.
• Regularly attend and participate at in-store meetings.
• Recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Confidently exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns.
• Take and document corrective actions when needed, including collaboration with business and HR partners in managing performance to include coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination when needed.
• Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels.
• Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
• Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive.
• Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age, and have a basic knowledge of math, weights and measures. Must have a minimum of 2 years' meat cutting experience in the grocery or restaurant industry including leadership experience
• Must be able to perform other related duties as assigned
• Must be capable of standing for up to 4 hour continuously, and a total of 8 hours per shift is a must; will walk up to 2 miles per 8 hours
• Be able to work inside a temperature controlled area
• Possess good vision is required for using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine and tenderizer
• Be able to lift/carry products horizontally/vertically between 25 to 90 lbs., from 4
