Job summary

Vallarta Supermarkets in Los Angeles is hiring a Meat Dispatcher to provide prompt, friendly service and fulfill customer meat, seafood, and cremeria orders. You will stock displays, rotate stock, and ensure accurate pricing and labeling while upholding Vallarta’s food-safety standards.

As part of a busy meat department, you will help with merchandising, case temperatures, sanitation, and teamwork to deliver high-quality products and a positive shopping experience for our guests.

Qualifications

• Provide friendly, helpful service to customers.
• Learn product codes and uses for meat, seafood and cremeria.
• Basic English communication skills required.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, crowded retail meat department.

Responsibilities

• Smile, greet, and assist customers with extraordinary service.

• Achieve and maintain standards for merchandising, presentation, signage, inventory, and price integrity.
• Fill customer orders accurately, package, weigh, and label products with honesty and care.
• Rotate and stock products in displays and coolers; maintain freshness and quality.
• Promote sales through suggestive selling and marinated meats/vegetables.
• Maintain cases, counters, and displays clean and presentable.
• Ensure compliance with weights, measures, and labeling laws.
• Monitor case temperatures and report discrepancies to management.
• Assist with sanitation, cleaning work areas and equipment.
• Work safely with protective equipment and report unsafe conditions.
• Treat coworkers and customers with respect; follow policies and dress codes.
• Do not operate equipment without proper training.
• Support teamwork by assisting coworkers and communicating with management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
